From the classroom
to your career.
We built CareeoCity because we kept seeing the same thing — talented students making important decisions in the dark. This is the story of why that bothered us, and what we decided to do about it.
There's too much advice.
And not enough truth.
Pick up any career guide and it will tell you to "follow your passion" or "research your options." But students already know that. What they can't find is someone who will just be honest with them — about what a field actually feels like from the inside, what it demands of you daily, and whether the gap between the brochure and the reality is small or enormous.
The internet hasn't fixed this. If anything, the flood of options has made it worse. A student exploring research, journalism, engineering, or management doesn't struggle to find information. They struggle to find perspective.
And the perspective that actually helps — from someone who has just walked the path and hasn't forgotten what it was like to be at the start of it — is not something you can navigate through on internet.
"The most useful guidance rarely comes from institutions. It comes from peers — people one or two steps ahead who are willing to say what they actually know."
CareeoCity was built around exactly this. We make it easy for a student who is uncertain about a path to have a real, unhurried conversation with someone currently walking it. No formality. No distance. No gatekeeping.
Three things students face.
Every single time.
Most students choose their stream, college, or first job based on what their immediate circle has done — not on what they themselves have actually understood about that path.
Formal counselling, when it exists, is expensive and generic. Advice from parents often reflects a world that has already changed. What's missing is someone in the middle — recent, real, relatable.
A student with a well-connected family gets informal mentorship without knowing it. A student without that network doesn't. CareeoCity exists to close that gap — because where you grew up shouldn't determine what you know.
Because every learner deserves clarity, regardless of where they begin.
Built on access,
accountability, and trust.
At CareeoCity, our mission is simple: make it possible for any student — regardless of background, institution, or city — to have a genuine conversation with someone who has recently been exactly where they are.
We're not building a job board. We're not a coaching app. We're building the infrastructure for honest, experience-based mentorship at a scale and affordability that has never existed before in India.
Mentorship should never be a privilege. We keep CareeoCity accessible so a student in Tier 2/3 cities gets the same quality of guidance as one in Tier 1.
Generic advice rarely helps. We connect students with mentors actively studying or working in the same fields — so what they share is current, specific, and useful.
Every mentor is verified. Students can engage knowing they're speaking with someone whose credentials and intent have been reviewed by us personally.

When I was in high school, I was certain I wanted to be an architect. I had never spoken to one, never visited a firm, and never had a single real conversation about the day-to-day reality of the job. I just thought the work seemed interesting—which, honestly, is how most of us make our earliest career choices.
Eventually, my path shifted, and I naturally developed a deep interest in physics. I spent the next decade inside India's research ecosystem—first at BHU, and then at NISER Bhubaneswar, where I completed my PhD in High Energy Physics. Looking back, I don't regret that transition at all. I truly enjoyed the process and found genuine fulfillment in my research. But I also realize something important: I was incredibly lucky.
As I taught and interacted with more students over the years, I saw a hard truth: most people are not that fortunate. When career decisions are driven by extremely limited information and a total lack of real-world exposure, the outcome is rarely fulfillment. Millions of students end up unsatisfied, locked into paths they never fully understood before committing, simply because they didn't have access to the right guidance. They are forced to place blind bets on their futures.
That is the gap CareeoCity is built to close. A student's future shouldn't have to rely on luck. Instead of prescriptive algorithms or generic motivational content, we make it genuinely easy for an uncertain student to sit down with someone who has recently walked the same road. By providing honest, unfiltered access to mentors who can describe what the terrain is actually like, we help students make informed decisions, rather than leaving their careers to chance.
Know your path before you begin your journey.
Learn from those who have recently walked it.
One honest conversation
can change everything.
Whether you're exploring your first career path or figuring out your next move — there's a mentor on CareeoCity who has recently been exactly where you are.
