Personal and Professional Details
I am Rahul Sikdar, a B.Tech student in Computer Science and Engineering at IIT (BHU) Varanasi, passionate about software development, problem solving, and building impactful technology solutions. I enjoy working across backend systems, AI-based applications, and full-stack development, with strong interests in software engineering, distributed systems, and algorithm design. Alongside academics, I actively participate in competitive programming and collaborative technical projects, which have strengthened my analytical thinking and debugging skills. I have worked on multiple projects, including a personalized News Recommendation System and a real-time Trade Matching Engine. I also contributed to a project at MoneyStories, where I applied practical development skills to build real-world solutions. Additionally, I completed an SDE Internship at YugYatra, gaining industry exposure to professional development workflows, teamwork, and scalable software practices. Currently, I serve as a Class Representative and DUGC Representative, where I regularly interact with students and help address academic and organizational concerns. I enjoy learning continuously and sharing knowledge while collaborating with others in technical communities.

Social and Mentorship
I want to become a mentor because I believe meaningful learning happens most effectively through guidance, collaboration, and shared experience. Throughout my academic journey, I have benefited greatly from seniors and peers who helped clarify complex concepts, provided practical strategies, and motivated me during challenging phases. Mentorship gives me an opportunity to contribute in the same way by supporting others academically and personally. I enjoy breaking down difficult topics into simpler ideas and helping others build confidence in their abilities rather than just giving solutions. As a mentor, I aim to create an approachable environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, discussing problems, and exploring new ideas. Additionally, mentoring strengthens leadership, communication, and responsibility—skills that are essential for long-term professional growth. By mentoring others, I hope to foster a collaborative learning culture while also continuously improving myself through interaction and feedback.
